For every trader on the floor, there are at least two developers. Make no mistake, IT is their core business. Because in such a highly competitive market, performance, speed, and reliability are key. Which is where you come in.

Now you have my curiosity

As their Trading Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role at the heart of their complex environment. Making sure that they can release daily in a safe and controlled manner is a crucial part of the role as well as ensuring high availability, stability, and performance. You will be troubleshooting and providing quick responses to production issues but more importantly, you will solve the root cause of problems in a structural way.

And from a more technical point of view?

You will use bash and Python for scripting and automation in their Linux-based environment, and use Kubernetes to distribute and deploy large workloads. They work on a wide range of proprietary systems and tools built using Java and C++ and often solve issues using their knowledge of JVM’s, database querying, and TCP/IP protocols.

Of course, you’ll need to bring the right set of tools to build the perfect solutions, but we’re mainly focused on the willingness and ability to learn. You get a thrill out of designing, implementing, and supporting high-performance networks. You’re not afraid to go beyond the standard textbook concepts of networking. With your ability to communicate technical concepts and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you’re settled.

So this trading thing, what does it pay?

Pretty damn well, to be honest. Starting with a base salary between €80.000 and €110.000 gross a year, excluding the secondary benefits. And those secondary benefits, are second to none.
