When you create a product, you want it to sell. When you pay for marketing, you want to know if it works. And when you supply a store, you want to see your product on the shelves. But how do you make sure?

Tell me more…

By using the power of mobile crowdsourcing, this innovative start-up works to improve the relationship between retailers and suppliers. Now, I know what you’re thinking. How hard could that be? Suppliers want their products to be sold and retailers want to sell products, right? Wrong!

Yes, suppliers want their products to be sold. But it takes more than simply putting it up on a shelf. They want their product to be priced, merchandized and promoted properly. They want to make sure their product is on a better shelf than their competitor’s product, that it’s being sold for a better price, and that it’s always in stock.

And yes, retailers want to sell products. But they want to be able to do it as efficiently as possible. Making sure each and every product is displayed exactly the way the supplier wants it, feels like a waste of time when you have thousands of products to worry about. This is where you come in.

What do they need?

To help suppliers make sure that retailers live up to their agreements, this start-up has developed a unique mobile crowdsourcing platform. Shoppers using the mobile app can earn nice incentives by completing assignments at different retail locations. These assignments can involve checking a store’s stock of a certain product, photographing promotional materials to check if they’re displayed properly, or checking the price of a product. Each assignment will earn them a little money and give the supplier of the product more insight into the market.

Of course, this platform is under constant development and they’re adding new features on an almost daily basis. They’ve developed the platform in Ruby, did so on Rails, and have developed native mobile apps for both Android and iOS. Now all they need is someone with a true entrepreneurial spirit to take it to the next level and help them take over Europe.

That someone sounds like me…

It could be you we’re looking for. If you have a few solid years of Ruby development experience, you’re already well on your way. It’s helpful if you’re already familiar with the Rails framework, know a thing or two about React, or happen to have some mobile development experience. None of those is a requirement though. What’s most important is your readiness to challenge ideas and present your own.

Yup, that’s me

Now you might also like to know what is in it for you. You’ll start off with a base salary between €45.000 and €60.000 a year. On top of that, you’ll receive excellent secondary benefits including a laptop and possibly even a lease-car. Flexible working hours are the standard and a couple of days a week working from home is never a problem either. Still, the most exciting thing has to be the opportunity to make a significant impact on the European retail market. Are you up for it? Click apply to get started!
