Clickbait, Sponsored content, and Fake News. Print media is dying, while the need for quality journalism has never been greater. Fortunately, there is one promising tech company looking to make a difference. For the newspapers, the magazines, and for you. And they need the help of an experienced Senior Platform Engineer like you to do it.
Why?
They started back in 2014 and have since taken over the Dutch and German market but that’s not enough. They want to expand globally. This company is looking to be the savior of Journalism. And the core team, the one taking care of all of their platforms, is looking for an experienced Platform Engineer.
That’s me, what do they need?
As a Platform Engineer, you will collaborate with different colleagues depending on the work involved. For instance, collaborating with the Product Lead to translate the functional requirements for a feature into a technical design. You will discuss technical issues with your team, and take part in the scrum process. As production bugs can be painful, your job also includes tracking them down, working on a fix, and deploying it to production. Because you have lots of experience you will mentor and coach others when needed.
Cool, what do you want me to bring?
Experience building, managing, and deploying software systems on Google Cloud with Terraform and Kubernetes, and a few years of solid Back-end Development experience to start with. Experience using and managing tools like Kafka and ElasticSearch in a cloud environment. They use Ruby for pretty much everything but as long as you’re willing to learn, it doesn’t really matter what programming language you come from. All they look for is a strong understanding of OOP-principles, whether it be in Java or Python, or even a more ruby related technology like Elixir. Beyond that, it’s up to you. If you already have experience with Golang or GraphQL, that’s awesome. If you don’t, we’ll help you learn.
Nice, but what else do I get?
A very competitive salary between €55.000 and €70.000 gross a year, Full travel reimbursement, a MacBook (or Windows/Linux laptop if you prefer), Flexible hours, Free lunches, Weekly massages. So what are you waiting for? Click Apply!
