Be honest, do you really know who your neighbors are? Don’t worry. You’re not the only one. We’re more connected than ever before but somehow, fewer and fewer people actually know who’s living right next door, or one floor up for that matter. Clearly, it’s time for a change. And you’re the one to lead it.
Sounds awesome!
Having a safe, affordable, and comfortable place to live is one of life’s greatest necessities. Everybody needs a place to call their home. Strangely, few really do. Who is that strange person you saw standing in the elevator? Could it possibly be the neighbor you’ve been living next door to for the past three years? Or maybe the new landlord? And who do you call when the heater is busted? Or when you need to borrow a parking space?
This company aims to answer all of these questions and more by turning houses into homes and buildings into villages. They started their mission only a few years ago but have already had great success in connecting people and creating a new way of living together. With their revolutionary Microsoft-based platform and native mobile applications, they turn apartment complexes into true communities. Communities where people can feel safe, supported, and above all, at home. And by connecting not only neighbors but also service partners, they even manage to make living more affordable. But it doesn’t stop there. Now that the product has been proved and demand is increasing, it’s time for the next step. A step they want you to be a part of.
Why me?
The current platform has been developed by a third-party, just like their mobile apps. But now that things are taking off, it’s time to take control. That’s where you come in. As the Lead .NET Developer, you’ll be taking this platform to the next level. Don’t worry, you’re not going to be cleaning up someone else’s mess. You’ll be creating your own. Because the first thing you’re going to do is taking this platform from .NET 4.5 to .NET Core. This will allow you to get to know the product through-and-through while also forming your own ideas on how it could be improved, which is step number two. Of course, some major decisions will have to be made when it comes to architecture and you’ll be the person to do it. Lastly, this wouldn’t be a lead position if there wasn’t anything to lead, which is why you’ll also get to build your team. You’ll be the first member of this team and it will be up to you to make the right decisions going forward.
What should I bring?
Let’s start with a number of years of relevant C# and ASP.NET development experience. We don’t like to focus on numbers though, we believe talent is far more important. Like talent for architecture, which will surely make a difference. Besides that, a bit of business savvy will surely come in handy. It’s important to keep the end-user in mind at all times and to truly understand their needs. Not only that, but you’ll also work on developing several API’s to integrate the product with service providers so experience in developing API’s would be good to have. Lastly, you’ll be building a new team in a start-up environment where you will be the technical lead. That kind of work takes a certain mindset if you know what I mean.
What’s in it for me?
You mean, besides the awesome opportunity to take on a lead position in a fast-growing start-up with a proven product and an ever-growing market, where you can build and lead your own team while learning more about software architecture? Well, a very nice salary between € 60.000 and € 80.000 gross a year. And, a training budget. Including, 25 paid vacation days. Not to forget, flexible working, and occasional working from home.
