For an E-commerce scale-up company in Amsterdam, we are recruiting for 3 (!) Engineering Managers to facilitate a new management layer within their IT organization. As one of their new Engineering Managers, you will be part of their IT department, the heart of their organization. Your IT knowledge and experience, together with your coaching skills will allow their multidisciplinary teams to grow to the next level and add customer value at an unprecedented pace. You will create and develop a high-performing team. They expect you to be on top of all the new technologies and manage the internal stakeholders in the best way possible.
Next to that, you are responsible for the long-term sustainability of the systems and their functionality. You make sure that your teams execute work according to company-wide or self-defined standards.
What will be my core responsibilities?
You will be responsible for building, growing, and managing diverse teams of engineers from different disciplines and for multiple domains. You will ensure the overall quality of the deliverables of your team, review department objectives for adequacy and consistency with company objectives. You will be providing clear and concise instructions to engineering teams based on broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness.
Furthermore, you will formulate and execute strategies and coordinate with other managers. You will present practical input for strategic technology decisions and support the preparation of the Technology Roadmap. And of course, you will consult with leadership on emerging technologies and influences technology decisions.
Sounds amazing, but what do you need to bring to the table?
Of course, you have management experience in multiple software development environments. You have a proven track record of continuous improvement, resource management, planning, control, and budget responsibility.
