It’s the 21st century and the digital transformation is well underway. Unfortunately, some industries are falling behind. Especially the hospitality industry. Luckily, there’s one company looking to change that. And they need your help to do it.
Sounds great, tell me more
If there’s one industry that’s ripe for disruption, it’s the hospitality industry. While pretty much everything we know has been drastically changed by new technology, most hotels are still the same. But not for much longer. This company has developed a unique platform to not only automate a lot of the processes going on in hotels but also seriously improve the guest experience. From Check-in to Check-out, nothing stays the same.
What did they use to build their platform? The Microsoft stack. All of it. Everything was developed in C#.NET and it all runs on Azure. The front-end is a different matter though. React is the framework of choice and their mobile apps have been developed in React Native. Makes sense, when you realize how important the UI is in providing the best possible guest experience.
So, how can I help?
The ultimate goal is to provide the best possible guest experience and though the features of the platform are essential in providing that experience, what guests will really remember is how intuitive and smooth the UI was. Of course, it first has to work, but it will be your job to make it work beautifully. You’ll be working closely with colleagues in all kinds of different disciplines. From your fellow front-end developers to the back-end team, the architects, project managers, and possibly even sales. You see, it’s not about simply building what someone else has designed. It’s about creating the best possible product and in order to do that you have to truly understand the clients and their needs. Whether it’s by building a simple API or designing a completely new App.
Sounds cool but am I up to the task?
If you have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar field and a number of years of experience in front-end development, I’d say you’re already halfway there. And if you also happen to have solid React, and possibly even some Angular skills and a good understanding of UI, you’re definitely the right person for the job. Of course, this wouldn’t be a senior position if you weren’t also able and willing to coach you more junior colleagues.
And the pay?
That depends on what you bring to the table of course, but you’ll start with a salary between €60.000 and €75.000 gross a year. On top of that, there’s everything else. And when I say everything, I mean everything. Flexible working, Massages at the office, Daily healthy and extensive ‘family’ lunch, wear what you are, room for personal development, and all the other good stuff. Coming from abroad? You’ll even have the opportunity to join free in-house Dutch lessons. So, what are you still waiting for? Click Apply and we’ll talk soon!
