Back-end Developer
Within the Livery team, the back-end is the backbone of interaction. You will take the lead in designing and developing solutions that are not only scalable and well-documented but also meet the highest standards in terms of volume and latency. The pioneer phase of the concept is over, the team is now focused on delivering high-availability systems that the video and interactive teams can build upon.
The complexity of the platform is what makes this role stand out. Livery’s back-end systems are built to onboard up to 500,000 users per minute and process the scores of more than 1 million concurrent players within seconds. As a Back-end Developer, you are responsible for the continuous development of the server platform and translating the roadmap into concrete deliverables. Additionally, you will work on custom projects and implementations for major customers and play an important role in shaping new features.
You will collaborate closely with the entire back-end team to launch scalable features for Livery’s interactive live streaming platform. You are a partner who not only understands the code but also has an eye for performance tuning and creating high-quality, concurrent code that can withstand enormous peak loads.
The role fits a developer with more than 5 years of experience who feels at home in a modern stack with Java 21, Spring Boot, and MongoDB. You are eager to learn and get excited by technologies such as Redis, AWS, and CircleCI to ensure the stability and speed of the platform.
Candidate profile
- Experienced back-end developer focused on building scalable, high-performance systems with strong reliability and low-latency performance.
- Takes ownership of translating roadmap priorities into robust, well-structured server-side solutions and platform features.
- Strong focus on performance tuning, concurrency, and system stability under high traffic and peak load conditions.
- Hands-on engineer working with Java 21, Spring Boot, and MongoDB, with interest in AWS, Redis, and CircleCI to enhance scalability and delivery.

In this role you can expect an annual base salary between € 65.000 and € 80.000 gross, including holiday allowance, based on a 40 hour work week.
