The Netherlands has always had a strong reputation in financial trading, and this company isn’t about to fall behind. As a high-frequency trading firm, technology and precision drive everything they do. For every trader, there are multiple engineers ensuring systems run flawlessly, and that same standard applies to internal operations. Payroll here isn’t just administrative, it’s a critical function where accuracy, compliance and efficiency directly support a high-performing, international workforce operating at scale.

What about the role?

As a Senior Payroll specialist, you take ownership of the entire payroll process within a small, experienced team. You ensure accurate and timely salary payments by overseeing everything from data collection and validation to processing and reporting. Acting as a key link between HR, finance and external partners, you make sure all payroll data is aligned and compliant with relevant laws and regulations, including pensions, insurance schemes and employee benefits. You play a key role in managing pension administration in line with Dutch legislation, as well as maintaining and coordinating group insurance policies. You proactively resolve discrepancies and ensure employees can rely on a smooth, transparent payroll experience.

Beyond execution, you focus on strengthening and future-proofing payroll operations. You continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows and implement automation or AI-driven solutions. You also play an important role in audits and compliance processes, ensuring everything stands up to scrutiny. With a strong focus on accuracy, control and innovation, you contribute to building a scalable and high-performing payroll function while having the autonomy to drive meaningful improvements.

Let’s check my CV!

You bring a solid foundation with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources or a related field, combined with over five years of hands-on experience in payroll management. You have in-depth knowledge of Dutch payroll processes, labour laws and taxation, and feel confident navigating audits, inspections and compliance requirements. Experience with other European payroll landscapes is a plus. You’re comfortable working with payroll systems such as ADP and understand how payroll connects to financial records, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting.

You’re highly detail-oriented and thrive in managing complex payroll data with precision. Deadlines don’t faze you, thanks to your strong organisational and time management skills, and you’re able to balance multiple priorities without losing oversight. At the same time, you communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders across the organisation, handling sensitive information with integrity and discretion. With solid Excel skills and a mindset geared towards structure, accuracy and continuous improvement, you play a key role in maintaining a reliable and well-organised payroll function.
