As a Lead Data Scientist, you guide Data Scientists and ML Engineers in building high-impact ML products while actively supporting their technical development. You validate ML use cases based on product and business needs, ensuring every solution is grounded in real value and aligned with strategic priorities. You take the lead in designing, developing, and improving ML and AI products, making sure they meet high standards in quality, scalability, and code excellence.

You also create the space to further develop and elevate the team, strengthening ways of working and embedding best practices across the group. In addition, you drive the adoption of state-of-the-art ML and GenAI tooling, ensuring the team continuously works with the latest technologies and insights. At the same time, you help keep the organisation at the forefront of ML and AI by translating innovation into practical, high-impact solutions.

Which skills do I need?

You bring extensive experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with a deep understanding of core data, ML, and AI concepts. You have a proven track record of contributing to and leading the development of ML products, ensuring high coding standards, best practices, and continuously improving the quality and speed of data science work.

You are experienced in working with a modern data stack, MLOps, and operating large-scale models in production environments. Beyond your technical expertise, you actively coach and support Data Scientists and ML Engineers in strengthening their skills. You excel at translating product and business needs into impactful ML and AI use cases that drive real customer and business value. With strong leadership and communication skills, you collaborate effectively across teams. You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
