This role calls for someone who understands systems and improves them. The cloud transformation is well underway, the hybrid foundation is in place, and now you make sure everything remains stable and keeps getting smarter. At the heart of daily operations, you keep the IT infrastructure running while simultaneously building the next phase. You switch between day-to-day incidents, large-scale infrastructure projects and international alignment within a complex Microsoft environment.
Tell me more…
Building a future-proof infrastructure requires more than technical knowledge alone. It is about connecting processes, technology and people. From monitoring and patching to hybrid cloud integrations and global Active Directory structures: you bring calm, clarity and direction to an international organisation in the middle of a digital transformation.
You work with hundreds of servers spread across multiple European locations and are actively involved in the migration to a hybrid Microsoft Azure environment. Infrastructure is your domain, but the impact of your work goes far beyond that: you ensure that business, security and IT remain seamlessly aligned. Sounds familiar? Then this is a role where you can truly strengthen the foundation of the organisation.
What will I be doing here?
As a Senior Network & Infrastructure Architect, you are responsible for the management and further development of a large-scale Microsoft infrastructure in an international context. You ensure the stability of Windows Server environments, manage Active Directory (AD DS) and Entra ID, and keep hybrid mail environments (Exchange on-premise and Online) reliable and available.
You work in a dynamic environment where on-premise and cloud come together. You proactively monitor systems, perform patches and updates without impacting the business, and take ownership of complex second- and third-line incidents. At the same time, you actively contribute to building the hybrid Azure environment: you think along on architecture, support design and implementation, and provide substantive input on migrations and innovations.
In addition, you act as a connecting link between local teams and international IT standards. You share best practices, document clearly and serve as a mentor to colleagues. Security is an integral part of your work: you recognise risks, think along on improvements and ensure infrastructure remains secure and future-proof. Once every five weeks, you take part in the on-call duty to ensure continuity outside office hours as well.
Let’s check my CV!
You bring at least 5 years of experience in managing and optimising Microsoft infrastructures within complex and international environments. Active Directory (AD DS), Entra ID, hybrid mail environments, backup and recovery solutions and Azure cloud are part of your daily work. You have experience with large-scale environments (hundreds of servers) and feel comfortable operating in a hybrid IT landscape.
You work in a structured way, document clearly and remain calm under pressure. You do not only solve technical problems, but also take initiative to improve processes and help colleagues move forward. Security awareness is in your DNA: you proactively think about risks, compliance and continuity.
You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, easily switch between teams and stakeholders, and know how to set priorities, even in high-pressure situations.
What’s in it for me?
You will earn a gross monthly salary between €5,000 and €6,500, supplemented with a 13th month and holiday allowance. With at least 36 vacation days, you have plenty of time to recharge and stay energised. On top of that, you receive great benefits such as a contribution to your health insurance, bike leasing, pension scheme and bonus. After 6 months, this is complemented with a work-from-home allowance and everything you need to work comfortably from home.
You work in a hybrid setup, from home or at the office in Rotterdam, within an international organisation that actively invests in IT, cloud and security. Growth? Absolutely. Training, coaching and career opportunities are widely available. The atmosphere? Professional, international and energetic, with room for sports, events and collaboration. Why wait? Apply now and help build an infrastructure that truly makes an impact.
